Stuck in the Present is a narrative-driven, 3D side-scroller psychological-horror game. It is a single player title that focuses on two Filipino immigrants navigating an abandoned subway system filled with horrors from their pasts.

We storyboarded the entire narrative to secure stakeholder buy-in and align the team. The use of storyboards to plan the game was my initiative, and it became a crucial part of our development process.
Using the company’s narrative and visual scripting tools, I implemented the scenes in Unity. We collaborated closely with the writers, adjusting the triggers and timing to fine-tune the pacing and blocking.
I produced the Demo and Trailer for a submission to the Independent Games Festival. Testing, bugfixing and Narrative alignment were crucial tasks to achive this milestone.

Fusewave

Fusewave is a music creation adventure set in a cozy retro-futuristic world, where anthropomorphic animals live in a fragmented society built on the remnants of a lost civilization.
I was the lead developer for this game. I created a system for music production throught gameplay combined with rhythm game mechanics.

I modeled the characters and 3D assets for the game. Finding the balance between the cozy atmosphere and the sci-fi aesthetic was a creative challenge.
I implemented the level design and environment art in the engine, once again working to balance the post-apocalyptic sci-fi elements with the requirements for gameplay progression.
I combined gameplay footage, concept art, and motion graphics to create a game trailer.

Buskerville

Buskerville is a story-driven mobile RPG where players learn how to make music. It was a venture project as part of my Master’s in Digital Media at the Centre for Digital Media in Vancouver.
This was my first game design project, and I had to learn Unity and Blender over the course of three months. A big part of it was presenting the pitch in order to get approved.
